Designer, Agile VFX & Retouching

Position Summary:

Purpose is to create world-class visualizations of products for market-ready imagery, animation or video. Responsible for applying advanced knowledge in visual effects, video editing, and image re-touching to lead assigned tasks internally and support presentations to clients externally.  The role will report to the Studio Manager and take creative direction from the Producer and/or Director of engagements.  The position is based in Chicago, IL.

Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Advanced knowledge in post-production / re-touching (what your craft is)
-        Compositing:    Build composited imagery and/or composited video
-        Color:                Color enhancements and matching
-        Effects:              Re-touch imagery / video footage based on creative direction

Lead tasks (how you apply your craft internally)
-        Tasks:               Lead tasks assigned by Client Service or Producer of engagements
-        Post:                  Understand post-production workflow to act quickly and effectively
-        Workflow:          Suggest process enhancements to improve quality or optimize workflow

Support presentations (how you apply your craft externally)
-        Assets:              Provide final visual assets for presentations and/or release to clients
-        Co-present:      Present post-production portion of presentations to clients when appropriate
-        Service:             Support Producer in building client relationship

Software Experience:

-        Adobe Creative Cloud experience a must (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)
-        Houdini / Fume / Phoenix FD experience a plus (or similar EFX software knowledge)
-        Photography experience a plus (to aid in compositing/effect creation)
